One of four Marine Corps M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks from the 2nd Marine Division’s 2nd Tank Battalion, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. that took part in a nine-nation NATO and U.S. Joint Forces Command exercise on the Salisbury Plain Training Area in Wiltshire, UK, in September and October 2005. The Exercise which was called Urgent Quest was designed to test, under battlefield conditions, various NATO standard identification systems that are used to minimize 'friendly fire' incidents.
